The Watch GT 7 Pro 46mm showcases Huawei's commitment to extending their established successes while refining the experience.
Huawei's venture into wearables has positioned the company as a dominant player, particularly strong in the Chinese market and gaining traction globally. With a diverse smartwatch portfolio, the brand continues to meet various consumer needs, and the GT series has emerged as a favorite among sports enthusiasts. The GT 7 Pro is a continuation of this lineage, presenting not a radical overhaul but rather a refined version of its respected predecessor, the GT 6 Pro.
Aesthetics
The GT 7 Pro retains the sporty essence established by its predecessor, showcasing an octagonal case that distinguishes it in a sea of round smartwatches. This design choice not only provides a distinctive look but also manages to balance sportiness with a polished finish that denotes premium quality. The 1.47-inch AMOLED display, protected by sapphire glass, elevates the overall feel while ensuring durability.

Available in shades of yellow, green, and black, each color variant carries its unique character. The bright yellow model captivates attention, embellished with matching accents that emphasize its sporty nature. In contrast, the green version echoes an outdoor aesthetic, while the black variant offers a subtler option appealing to daily wearers.
Ergonomics
With a weight of 56g and a thickness of 11.2mm, the GT 7 Pro maintains a comfortable fit, making it suitable for prolonged wear. Its thoughtful weight distribution enhances usability during various activities, from workouts to sleep monitoring. The newly designed Easy Cross Strap tucks away securely, improving comfort and health tracking accuracy, despite its compatibility limitations with third-party straps.

The control interface is intuitive, with well-placed buttons and a tactile crown that facilitates navigation seamlessly, especially in active scenarios when touch input may be cumbersome.
Performance
The AMOLED display stands out with its peak brightness reaching 3,000 nits, enhancing visibility in various lighting conditions. Running on HarmonyOS 6.1, it is compatible with both Android and iOS, appealing to a broader user base. The software design prioritizes usability, offering an uncomplicated yet effective experience.

Health and fitness tracking are central features, with various metrics covered including heart rate, sleep, and blood oxygen levels. Noteworthy are unique features like the Diabetes Risk Study, although some functionalities were unavailable during testing. Additionally, over 100 workout modes are supported, with enhancements for winter sports tracking, reflecting its suitability for athletes.

GPS tracking proved reliable during trial exercises, and the impressive battery endurance—rated up to 21 days—was substantiated across daily usage, including health tracking and activity logging.

Charging is done via a proprietary magnetic wireless charger, though its design leaves room for improvement, especially regarding the transition from USB-A to USB-C for a more contemporary user experience.
Sustainability
The GT 7 Pro also emphasizes durability, boasting IP69 and 5ATM ratings for formidable water and dust resistance, suitable for athletes and outdoor adventurers. While it is crafted with sapphire glass for scratch resistance, there’s a noticeable absence of a focus on sustainability or environmental measures in its materials.

Value
Priced at about £379 or roughly $510, the Watch GT 7 Pro occupies the premium smartwatch market segment. It delivers essential elements like a refined design, enduring battery life, and comprehensive health tracking features, making it a compelling option for prospective buyers.

While app support isn't its strong suit compared to competitors, the GT 7 Pro appeals to users looking for fitness tracking and a comfortable everyday watch. Current owners of the GT 6 Pro may not feel the need to upgrade, but newcomers will likely appreciate the cohesive package it offers.
Verdict

The Watch GT 7 Pro 46mm refines Huawei's established smartwatch formula without attempting to overhaul it. This is not just a rehash—it's an improvement on a solid foundation. The watch is visually striking, comfortable for prolonged use, and offers ample health features. While it may not satisfy those who prioritize extensive app ecosystems, for athletes and everyday users seeking functionality alongside style, it represents a strong option in today's market.
